Meet Amber

Have you realized that what you’re doing in your life isn’t working? Maybe it’s showing up at work, in your personal relationships or in your parenting. I am here to help guide you to self-awareness. I am here to help you live your life more intentionally and with purpose while assisting you to better understanding yourself.

As a counselor, I believe in the mind and body connection. Mindfulness is an essential practice to calming our mind and body. I like to incorporate mindfulness into my sessions by taking time for deep breathing, becoming aware of where we are holding stress in our bodies and teaching clients strategies for becoming more mindful and living with intent.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and use this often in trauma work with clients. This process allows for years of therapy to be condensed into a much shorter period by allowing the brain to naturally finish processing trauma. Through EMDR, we can reduce and eliminate symptoms of PTSD.

I became a counselor out of a desire to help others. I am compassionate and understanding and hope to help guide clients on their life adventures. I hope to celebrate your success, be an empathetic ear and a support system for you as you make changes. As a counselor, it is my job to be an empathic listener as you travel your path to healing. My goal is to make you comfortable, safe, heard and understood while you move through the change process.

I have been living in our mountain community for 7 years. When I am not working, I am usually taking care of my goats, ducks, chickens, turkeys and dogs. I also enjoy being outdoors with my husband and our two sons. I am fortunate and blessed to be able to provide mental health services to this community!

“You are not broken and in need of fixing. You are wounded and in need of healing.” – Danu Morrigan
