Meet Kristen
As a student intern at Conifer Counseling, Kristen has been working with the Boys and Girls Club of the High Rockies (BGCHR) as our intern therapist on site. She has been supporting the club with peer-to-peer relationships and she will be working on staff training to support consistency and to create a more effective and positive environment for the staff and students.
Kristen works with individual clients of all ages in a therapeutic setting at the Conifer Counseling office as well as the on-site therapist at EChO (Evergreen Christian Outreach)!
Kristen is starting a new support group for those who endured or are enduring narcissistic behaviors. Another group that Kristen is hosting is yoga therapy. This group is mind-body therapy using the body and the breath to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma or any other life struggles that may keep someone for living a fulfilling life. Kristen will also be offering individual yoga therapy sessions that can be scheduled through the intake line at Conifer Counseling.

Meet Maddie
At a young age, I realized the importance & values of communication, community and connection. I believe being connected to others is essential to feeling cared for and welcomed. Understanding one’s self and finding purpose can make life’s journey much more manageable. My goals are to assist clients in feeling more comfortable & secure within their own life, provide safe spaces to share one’s inner thoughts/feelings and build a strong sense of connection.
I see therapy as a team effort, where the client and I can work collaboratively towards targeted goals. I consider myself patient & empathetic as well as a person who can provide unconditional and unwavering support, all while “keeping it real”. I will not tell you what is right or wrong, as I don't believe life is so black and white. However, I hope to encourage and strengthen client’s abilities to make better decisions that align with their own chosen path. I show up as my most authentic self which I believe helps me develop trust with clients. You can rely on me to be straightforward, but in a compassionate way.
I believe in the importance of exploring a person’s inner world. Every person has a unique story to share but sometimes our narratives on life become skewed by our traumatic experiences and make it difficult to cope with life problems in an effective way. I aid clients in reframing their stories and improving the language they use about themselves and the world around them, in hopes a client can feel more in control of their life, as well as experience more fulfillment. I am here to help identify the roadblocks but also to point out the opportunities and areas for growth. Every person has gifts and strengths and I assist clients in identifying & reclaiming their intricate gifts.
My approach to therapy is holistic, person-centered, and strength-based. It is also culturally and trauma-informed, as well as gender-sensitive. I understand the uniqueness of everyone’s experiences and will not give you “cookie cutter” ways to deal with problem areas. I tend to view a person within how their environment has shaped them and their perspectives. I believe culture has a significant role in personal development and I respect everyone’s cultural backgrounds and differences.
My specialties are focused on those who have experienced trauma, anxiety/depression, addiction, and persons who have neurodevelopmental conditions (ADHD, etc.). I enjoy working with teens, adults, and experienced adults (60+).
